From Leslie:I have really enjoyed reading about all of my former classmates. Thank-you to the organizers who have done a wonderful job. We are all so fortunate to have such committed organizers at the helm. It sounds like you have planned a fun weekend.

Moved to Lancaster 20 years ago when Bruce took a new job. Bruce continues to work in corporate real estate development and I teach childbirth and parenting classes for our local hospital's wellness center. We emptied our nest in August when we sent our youngest off to college. The next day I assumed more work responsibilities and more hours. Having worked on other grants, I am now the Lance Armstrong Project Coordinator at our hospital. University of Pennsylvania has the grant and we are a community based center. We work with cancer survivors. Very interesting and rewarding work.

Bruce and I will be married for 30 years on March 31st. We have three wonderful daughters. Martha is a freshman at Gettysburg College and plays on their field hockey team (surprised that we haven't crossed paths with Sue D.). Natalie graduated in May from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and immediately started a two year fellowship in museum education at the Shelburne Museum in Vermont. Susan, the oldest, graduated from Colgate University in 2006. She lives in New York City and works at the Today Show.

From Timothy:Janine and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary this June. We have 3 beautiful and fun kids. They all attend Upper Dublin Schools and we could not be happier. After 25 years in financial services, I opened Calvin Investment Group about 2 years ago. The timing could not be worse, but we are growing at a nice pace. Janine was one of the leaders of UDCAUSE which organized the community to vote for the new high school. It was a tremendous amount of work, but you can see the result by driving down Loch Alsh Avenue.

From Philip :I am looking forward to seeing the gang. The last 35 years have been a whirlwind. Has it really been that long.

The summer after our graduation I spent in CO working for Young Life. Then off to Phila College of Bible (now Phila Biblical University). After graduation I spent 5+ years on the pastoral staff of Church of the Open Door, Fort Washington, PA, then the next 20+ years in the Mortgage banking field going from originations to sales training to IT Consultant with software companies creating software for the Mortgage industry.

For the last 2 1/2 years I have been the pastor of a small church in Skippack, PA with a long history. It is 307 year old Mennonite church, making it the 2nd oldest Mennonite church in North America

I have been married for almost 22 years and have a 11 year old son, Bryan, who likes to run and play soccer. That shouldn't be a big surprise to anyone.

I recently earned a National Coaching license in soccer where I was by far the oldest (most mature?) participant in attendance.

There are a lot of gaps in the time line, but these are the highlights. We can talk more at the reunion.

Too Cool! Lots of good memories. Good to see entries from some of my “Once upon a Time” running buddies. Life after UD??? Traveled the world on the Army’s nickel. Husband to a pretty woman for 30 some years. My two kids thought that I was an alien from outer space until they got out on their own and for the last ten years they been telling me how smart I’ve become in my old age (as if under 54 is old!!!). I don’t do well in the civilian world but have been tolerating it for the past 13 years only because I want some play money ( Army check = necessities ). And playing the part of “O’Pa” to my grandkids who live next door is a good thing.

But as to what I want to be when I grow-up??? Never could put away my playtime long enough to figure that one out. Knives from titanium, local crystal into trinkets, customizing in the woodshop is better then the standard store bought stuff, fishing is out but bow & firearm hunting is in, and if there‘s not a good Medieval Fiction book on the shelf yet read, there’s always a RPG on the CPU that’s ready to get lost in. Speaking of getting lost, got a National Forrest to play around in the backyard complete with a pond that’s 35 miles long and 5 miles wide. My Sheppard would argue that it’s good for swimming year around but for me it’s good only from April to October.

God is awesome and if there’s someone reading this who doesn’t agree, all I can tell ya is, “Save your breath“…. cause I got too much experience with Him to consider otherwise. And as for a shout out… there’s too damm many of ya….. So Best Regards to ya all!

How time has flown! My time @ UD wasn't the easiest time in my life and I look at so many faces and have little recollection. I was in my own little bubble back then....

After High School I spent some time @ IUP studying Speech and Hearing. After my dad's death, I dropped out and married a wonderful man. After 31 years, we are happier still! We have 2 great kids who are in committed relationships, but no grandchildren yet. As I write this, I'm actually spending some time visiting my daughter and her husband in Salt Lake City.

I finished my education @ Temple with a BSN in 1987. I'm an RN and have mostly done home health nursing for the past 20 years.

God has been good to me!

From Nanette:Thanks to Bev and to Hope for contacting me. I'm so sorry that Lee and I couldn't make it this time but are hoping to be there for the next one. After UDHS, Lee and I went to Temple University. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Speech + Communications. (A degree in talking a lot - that's great!) 3 weeks after graduation, Lee and I got married and have been happily married for almost 32 years now. We first met at Jarrettown elementary school in 4th grade, and I knew I'd marry him back then! We started our family while Lee was in dental school. We were poor as anything, but were having a blast! Now, on to current topics: In 2006, BOTH of our sons got married less than 3 months apart! Our oldest, Seth, is 29 (OMG - we have a kid who's almost 30!) and married to Ashley. He graduated from Temple Law School with honors and his specialty is estate planning and tax law. They're expecting our grandson in June! Daniel is 27 and married to Erin and our grandson, Zachary, is 1 year old today (April 8th). Daniel, being the "middle child" is naturally gregarious and is the business manager of Lee's dental practice. Our daughter, Ilana is 22 and is a Cliinical Research Coordinator at the Center for Weight + Eating Disorders at the University of Pennsylvania. Sihe will be going for her PhD in Clinical Psychology and has been seriously dating Sam for 4 years. We are very blessed that all 3 of our kids are still very loving and close to us. We have been living in Huntingdon Valley for 12 years now and are right near my sister and her family and our mom (My dad passed away about 20 years ago.) I have been busy being an ebay silver power seller for about 6 or 7 years now, selling needlepoint and cross stitch kits all over the world. It was so exciting to see all of your pics, read your bios, and sad to read of those who passed. It's been great catching up with some of you on Facebook! I hope to catch up with more of you soon!

Been blessed with twenty-three enriched years of marriage to my sweetheart, Jill, from Wayne, PA. We have three children - Todd, Brooke, Brandon (22, 21, 18) - and three golden retrievers/black labs, my running partners every morning. Sports changed somewhat in college after racing with a nationally ranked crew (rowing) team, and this passion continued many years post college via Boathouse Row on the Schuylkill River, Philadelphia. This led to US Nationals Gold in the Quad, Silver in the Double, Silver in the Eight, and Silver at the Canadian Henley. Have enjoyed a professional career in the Medical Device Industry (Johnson & Johnson, Synthes, Medtronic) as an Executive / VP with Marketing, Clinical and R&D responsibilities. Our faith and our family mean everything to us. We are still big Eagles and Phillies fans, but after eleven years here we've really come to appreciate the finer traditions of Southern Living, year-round Golf, Grisham novels, and SEC football.

This picture was taken last year after Laura’s crew team won the Philadelphia Championships on the Schuykill River near Boat House Row. I spend a lot of time these days on the banks of the river cheering on the girls of Mount Saint Joseph Academy. Unfortunately my daughter doesn’t go to school there… I just like hanging around young girls.

My husband Lou and I are married 33 years this year and live in Maple Glen where we raised our two wonderful children, Nicole (lives in Dresher) and owns her own graphic design business and Lou (lives in Audobon) who is a Manager of Finance at GSI Commerce. Both of them also graduated from Upper Dublin and Penn State! We have a beautiful 1 year old grandson who will also be a product of the Upper Dublin school system in the future!

My husband Lou recently retired after 30 years of teaching social studies at Upper Dublin High School. I work for Johnson & Johnson in Global Health Resources in Spring House and am celebrating my 25th anniversary with J&J this year. Aside from my career, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, hiking, biking, gardening, and entertaining.

It’s been great reading what people are doing and looking forward to the reunion. Thank you Hope, Bev, and Seth for starting this up.

I live in Horsham and haven’t strayed far from the Montgomery County area since high school - aside from my college years at East Stroudsburg. I even worked in Fort Washington for 15 years at McNeil Consumer Products Company. I am a single parent and have been blessed with 2 wonderful children who are the joy of my life – Gregory (14) and Kristi (13 – adopted from China). Gregory is active in soccer and lacrosse and Kristi loves to dance and sew.

I’m still working full-time – unlike some classmates who I see are retired! Although I have to say that I am retired from my “part-time job” in the Army Reserves – I just can’t collect my retirement pay yet! I joined the Army Reserves while still in college and served for 20 years before retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer (CW3) in 1996. *UD Connection – Mary Rooney (Sturm) and I were both Chief Warrant Officers in the same Army Reserve unit for a while.

A couple of other UD connections:
- My brother Bob (UD ’75) married Kim Miller (UD ’76) who is the sister of Pete Miller from our class. I saw Pete when we were at our nephew’s wedding 2 years ago in Richmond, VA – I think it was the 1^st time I saw him since HS! And if I’m remembering correctly, our classmate Shelly (now Chelli) Jackson had some hand in introducing my brother, Bob to his wife, Kim when they were in YoungLife together.

- And another UD connection is that I was in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program for several years and my “little sister” (Jenn) graduated from UD class of 1990 – she’s now married with 2 children of her own.

After getting an AGS degree from Montgomery County Community College and a B.A. in Journalism from Temple University, I've lived in 4 different states and held several different jobs since high school. I have been back in central PA since 1997. My husband and I are members of the Pennsylvania Assoc. for Sustainable Agriculture (own 70 acres) and I am a democratic precinct leader in Union Co.

I can't believe how many people I recognize and I hope some of you remember me. In my 'Now' picture I'm with my brother's wife & children (Rick Samans UD Class of '76) at their home in Geneva, Switzerland - I am the hot chick in blue (lol).

After college, I did live in the Philly area for awhile but soon moved due to business to Long Island, NY. I got married and had a beautiful daughter, Kristin, who married her college sweetheart a year ago.

After 15 years on LI and a divorce, Kristin and I moved to the DC area where we lived in Potomac and Bethesda Maryland; Ashburn and Alexandria Virginia.

I've spent my life in sales as a leader and mentor to many sales teams in the technology field, software and services. Now I am back in NY in my own consultancy business, playing a lot of golf and loving life!

From Bill:Can it really be 35 years? Feels like yesterday. Okay, maybe last week. I went to Penn State for undergrad and then Temple for dental school. After my residency I taught part-time at Temple while starting in practice in Ambler. I am married to Elaine, a psychologist who has kept me sane for almost 25 years and we have 3 wonderful daughters, one in grad school at Penn State, one a junior at Pitt, and one in 8th grade at Sandy Run. (The older two graduated from UD in '03 and '05.) We like to sing in our church choir and to travel, especially to Greece where we have family. I look forward to reconnecting with old friends and I congratulate the organizers for the excellent job that they are doing!

I can't believe it has been 35 years. It feels like we're having the reunion right here on this web site! I've been living in Philadelphia. I remarried 6 years ago. I have a son - 21 and a daughter 15. My kids have heard many stories about Sandy Run and high school. It all comes back watching them grow up.
I've been a nurse since 1976. I have a master degree in nursing and a master degree in natural health. I've been a school nurse for the school district of Philadelphia for 18 years. I hope to retire when I'm 55. Not sure what I'll do then.

From JoAnn: I've been married to Terry for 30 happy years. We have 3 children: Jenelle (27 and married) is a biologist at Merck, Justin (24) is in marketing at Datacap Systems and Jared (21) will be entering his senior year in college.
I am very fortunate in that I am able to play tennis three days a week while working two days a week at Datacap Systems. That flexibility also allows Terry and I to travel frequently which we both love to do!.
I cannot believe it has already been 35 years since high school. I remember so much of it, as if it happened yesterday!!

Small town boy meets small town girl and raises family in small town with local friends and family. Life has been a great ride full of surprises and I have been truly blessed with a wonderful wife, children, partner, friends, and associates.

After graduation, I attended Drexel University (78) and married my wife of 28 years, Robin Kramer (UDHS 76). We returned to UD in 1986 moving to Maple Glen and our children attended Jarrettown Elementary, Sandy Run, and UDHS. Samantha graduated (2001) and David (2005). In 1987, I joined with another fellow 73 grade, Craig Pollen, and established the firm Pollen & Secouler CPA’S. My parents still live in UD – Dresher. Finally after all this time, I moved out of UD – but not far, we now live in Blue Bell. I’m now entering another stage of life, I expect my first grandchild this fall.

TO CLASSMATES OF UD CLASS OF 1973-
What an interesting class of ’73 whose members have experienced many types of journeys and adventures, both near and afar. As others have pointed out, this website is definitely a mini-reunion in itself; and, I extend my gratitude to Bev, Hope and Seth.

Like several other classmates, I wasn’t in school much during our senior year. Went to Univ. of Maryland for a few years, got married and transferred to Temple Univ. for a smidge, and graduated from their School of Pharmacy.

In the middle of a 28+ year career as a pharmacist, the latter half spent as a self-employed subcontractor in various practice settings in southeastern PA, I took a short break to concentrate on scuba diving training that, over time, went on to include some technical training and cave diving, a good portion of that in FL.

While building up the subcontracting business, I got it into my head to start a small company with a partner manufacturing and retailing Scuba Diving and Ocean Life Fine Jewelry, which I still do. I’m in the (long) process of working on a new website in the background, but if you're curious:

My husband of 33 years passed away in early mid-2008 after a sudden but short illness. I retired from pharmacy to take care of him and will probably remain retired from the primary career. From Barry:2023 update: At the end of 2022 I retired after 30 years as a contractor at the FAA Technical Center, mostly doing safety analysis for air traffic control. I still live in the Atlantic City area, and do a lot of bicycle riding.

After UD, I went to Penn, then graduate school at UCLA, then spent five years in France as a research physicist. I returned to the US in 1988, did some college teaching, and worked as a flight instructor in Wilmington, DE before starting at the Tech Center.

From Bob:I live outside Washington, DC, in a small town (Berwyn Heights) next to College Park, Maryland, where the main campus of the University of Maryland is located. I've been married since 1981 to my wife, Karen, who was born and raised in Trinidad, in the West Indies. We have 4 children, 3 still living, 2 of whom are married, and we will have 4 grandchildren by the time we meet for our 50th reunion.

I spent my professional career working in Washington on public policy relating to science and technology, including 20 years as a staffer in the United States Senate and three years right before I retired in 2016 working for President Obama's Science Advisor. I am still active in retirement in consulting, teaching (at Georgetown University), and advocacy related to clean energy and the environment.

I'm really looking forward to the reunion and catching up with old friends, especially the ones I've lost touch with over the years!

After leaving Upper Dublin I went off to school and got degrees from University of Buffalo and the University of Miami in Architecture. I worked in New York and New Jersey and migrated to South Florida in 86. I've been here ever since, raising my 2 girls with my wife who are both in college at the University of Florida. Although a transplant from New York to Pennsylvania as a kid of 12 and leaving at 19, I still tell everyone I'm from Upper Dublin. This really confuses people, because I've retained my New York accent.
